Cristina Querrer
Cristina is a multidisciplinary artist: a visual artist, a poet, a writer, a singer/songwriter, and producer. Born in the Philippines as a U.S. military child and a product of the Vietnam War, she explores themes of loss and transcendence. She's had many online and print publications and is seeking to always explore and expand her repertoire. I am fascinated by the intersections between art forms, crossing disciplines, as one discipline influences the other, from painting, drawing, to multimedia. I let shapes and colors assemble before me and then I creatively place them in their perspective places. My work explores boundaries and the relationship between multiculturalism, militarism, and past or present political climate. I create variations of work that are crafted from both orderly and random dialogues.
I negotiate the future by synthesizing and intertwining traditional and experimental approaches. My body of work is the culmination of years of internalizing, witnessing, and digesting experiences through various planes of being. It depicts movement and travels through physical and otherworldly spaces.
