FEATURED ARTIST

"By depicting rapidly declining flora in an untraditional manner, I hope to highlight the beauty and necessity of these plants.

I am an artist living and painting in Jersey City, NJ. My work explores subject matter involving people, places and things I encounter in daily life, and public interest topics that I am passionate about. Most recently as a stARTup artist with ARTS By the People in the group show Wake Up Genius Species, my art explores the nature of extinction through 19 handmade 3D anaglyphs of extinct or endangered flora. By depicting rapidly declining flora in an untraditional manner, I hope to highlight the beauty and necessity of these plants.  In Wake Up Genius Species, I also explore myopia through handmade eye charts and a self-portrait reflecting how I see myself without the aid of corrective lenses. Exploring myopia in this manner, I hope to encourage others to consider different viewpoints in their own lives and to recognize that lives and paths are not always discernable with 20/20 clarity.
