Darren facilitated an ongoing dialogue focusing on the past and present role of circus arts and emergence of the contemporary circus movement.
Darren Rabinowitz is an educator and performing artist living in Washington D.C. Originally from Morristown, New Jersey, he holds a B.A. from American University in interdisciplinary studies that focused in theatre, dance, and international relations. Darren was part of the American University Dance Company and received the Robyn Rafferty Mathais scholarship for his research and performance of his one-man show ‘Baggage Claim’. In September 2015, he traveled to Lithuania to partake as a critic at the Vilnius Contemporary Circus Festival. Professionally, Darren has performed in New York City and at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. As a co-founder of a multi-disciplinary circus collaboration, Street Light Circus, he strives to bring humanity to urban landscapes through his artistic endeavors.
