The Platform, literary open mic with Jen Soriano

Join us for The Platform on Wednesday, February 3, 8-9:15PM with host Jen Soriano (she/they) Jen is a writer, performer, social movement strategist, and parent to a six-year-old child who is also one of her best friends. They are the author of the chapbook "Making the Tongue Dry," published by Arts by the People, and recipient of the 2019 Penelope Niven Prize, the 2019 Fugue Prose Prize, and fellowships from Jack Jones Literary Arts, Hugo House and the Vermont Studio Center. Jen lives in Seattle, where they are currently hard at work on a memoir-in-essays about collective trauma, epigenetics, and the neuroscience of healing.

The Platform is a literary open mic featuring first time readers, early career writers and seasoned, published poets and authors. We encourage original poetry or prose and you’ll always find a supportive literary community ready to listen. Each reader gets a 5 minute maximum reading time.
